Who's responsible if I was injured while riding in a passenger van in California?

The Roberts Law Firm

You are on an outing -- with your church, with some other social group -- and you are riding in one of their la - one of the larger passenger vans, say about 15 people. Many times the driver is not someone who is very experienced in transporting that many people, and they are driving on California roadways. If you are in an accident while in that van and it's the fault of the driver, then whatever company is - owns that van -- whatever organization you are out on an outing with -- they would be responsible to compensate you for any medical bills that you might have, any lost income and for your pain and suffering. I'm Jeff (sp?) Roberts of the Roberts Law Firm, a full-service personal injury law firm in southern California. If you have been involved in an accident, call us for a free consultation.

Why are large passenger vans prone to accidents?

Thomas M. Kiley and Associates, LLP

The most dangerous vehicle in my experience on the road today is surprising to most people. It's a fifteen passenger van. It has a high center of gravity and once it's loaded up with people and equipment, its handling characteristics change and in bad weather or emergency maneuvers, it can fishtail and roll over. When it rolls over, because its structure is very weak, the roof collapses. When this happens, the injuries can be devastating especially with fifteen people. You have brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, paralysis and death. Most people don't realize it - these vans are out they're. They're used by schools, sports teams, hotels, livery services. People ride in them every day and they're completely unaware of the magnitude of the injuries that can occur in one of these vans. I'm attorney Tom Kiley. I've been representing the seriously injured and their families in Massachusetts for over three decades.
