What are the signs of elder abuse and neglect?

Bisnar Chase LLP

The kinds of signs to look for of nursing home neglect would be bedsores, that's the number one. Or if your elderly parent is complaining about something that is going on in the nursing home, listen to them because many times what they are telling you is correct. There is a lot of abuse, there's a lot of sexual abuse, there's a lot of neglect, there's a lot of failure to take care of them. The nursing homes don't make more money by doing a better job of taking care of the elderly. I'm John Bisnar, the senior partner of the Bisnar/Chase Law Firm. We exclusively represent seriously injured accident victims from our offices in Newport Beach California.

What signs of intoxication does a police officer look for?

The Law Offices of Virginia L Landry, Inc.

When a police officer stops your car, his or her goal is to get you out of the car to look for things like red, watery eyes, an unsteady gate, some inability to stand without moving back and forth, some ability to do field sobriety tests, "objective" (subjective) symptoms of what a police officer thinks is your impairment. I'm Virginia Landry. For the last 19 years in Orange County, I've helped when bad things happen to good people. If you've been arrested for DUI, please call.

What are the signs that a child may have Cerebral Palsy?

Thomas M. Kiley and Associates, LLP

When parents come to us and they suspect something is wrong with their child. They notice their child doesn’t develop, doesn’t reach the normal milestones when it should. If can’t roll over, can’t crawl, can’t stand. And they don’t necessarily understand that something happened during the birth process. So the child needs to be worked up, and many times cerebral palsy is not diagnosed until the child is two or perhaps three years old. I’m attorney Tom Kiley. I’ve been representing the seriously injured, and their families, in Massachusetts for over three decades.

How do I recognize if my child suffered a birth injury?

Thomas M. Kiley and Associates, LLP

Many times when parents come to us with a question about what happened to their child, they start to notice that the child isn't reaching milestones. Has an inability to roll over as a young infant. Inability to crawl or stand and maybe doesn't have balance. And they're starting to question what's wrong with the child because they don't necessarily understand that something traumatic happened during the birth process. And as soon as parents start to notice those signs, not only should they get a medical work up but they should seek out an attorney who can sort through the medical records and advise them as to whether or not something happened during the birth. I'm attorney Tom Kiley. I've been representing the seriously injured and their families in Massachusetts for over three decades.

What is cancer misdiagnosis?

Steven E. North

Diagnoses is the failure of a treating physician ordinarily, to appreciate either the signs and symptoms of a condition that are indicative of cancer. Bowel cancer, for example, may be manifest by a change in stool patterns, blood in the stool and so forth. Lung cancer may be evidence by spitting up blood. Any of these circumstances have to be appreciated by the clinician and acted upon promptly. If they don't and if there is cancer and if that cancer metastasizes, that becomes a very serious matter. I'm Steven North I specialize in medical malpractice litigation. My office is located in a townhouse in the upper eastside Manhattan. We welcome your call.

Is it better to just plead guilty to DUI in California?

The Law Offices of Virginia L Landry, Inc.

If you feel that you've had too much to drink, that you are not in a position to get behind the wheel of a car and you want to plead guilty, there's no reason to hire an attorney. However, if you want to make sure that you're not being convicted on fault signs, or that the police officer who's in the position of authority with you has not done something inappropriate, then, you could make a determination by not challenging something that could have a very long term affect on you and your future, for an insurance, an employment, and the ability to drive. It's your choice on whether you decide to requite an attorney or not. I'm Virginia Landry, for the last 19 years in Orange County, I've helped when bad things happen to good people. What medical errors can lead to lung cancer?

Steven E. North

Often lung cancer is not symptomatic. That is, the patient doesn't show any signs or symptoms, often until it is too late. The chronic cough, the coughing of blood, and other symptoms. But screening x-rays often are and should be done. It's a standard of care in some instances, typically depending on the age of the person, the history of the person, the smoking history of the person, the family history of the person. And if the clinician, the doctor, doesn't do those screening x-rays, or if they're done, and the x-ray is overlooked, and there is a lesion there, then that will be the basis for a lawsuit. I'm Steven North. I specialize in medical malpractice litigation. My office is located in a townhouse in the upper east side of Manhattan. We welcome your call.

What is anesthesia negligence?

Steven E. North

When somebody undergoes surgery, as we know in many instances, their whole breathing system is put in the hands of an anesthesiologist who has to monitor it very carefully. If that isn't done, if the patient starts exhibiting signs of failure of blood pressure, failure of systems, they can be brought back very promptly but if the anesthesiologist is not paying attention, is not alert enough, that can be devastating. I have a case right now involving an airway that wasn't properly managed during the course of anesthesia. It was twisted, the patient lost oxygen and suffered severe brain damage and ultimately death. I'm Steven North. I specialize in medical malpractice litigation. My office is located in a townhouse in the upper east side of Manhattan. We welcome your call.
